The course will start at 9:00 am and will finish around 5:00 pm, please be at the venue at 8:45 so we can start on time.
Chainsaw safety, safety gear, first aid and the law regarding chainsaw use.
Chainsaw maintenance, including chain sharpening – please bring along any chainsaw you may have even if it doesn’t work – broken saws often make the best teaching aids
Lunch: around 1:00pm, please bring your own lunch, tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day
Chainsaw starting and running checks.
Chainsaw operation – including sawing/cross cutting logs and demonstrations.
If you have your own chainsaw please bring it along, however we can provide chainsaws if you don’t have one. You will be able to try out a wide range of saws from lightweight battery & domestic saws to full-on professional saws. The course is held partially outside so please dress with this in mind.
You will be required to wear the correct PPE. This includes: regulation helmet with ear defenders, chainsaw trousers, chainsaw boots or wellies. If you do not have any of the PPE please let us know your approximate foot and waist size so we can provide you with the right size clothing.
